HIGHLY-UNSCIENTIFIC ROCK POLL: Do You Pay For Streaming Music?

Sometimes there are questions too big for one man. Sometimes, in the search for ultimate truth, we must seek the guidance of others. And then there are times when one wants to increase traffic to one’s blog by actively seeking participation of one’s small readership by stoking the fires of eternal debate…

Music_Throwdown

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these polls, but I think the time is right to do another one (i.e. I don’t know what else to write about). I pay for Spotify and use a premium Pandora account at work, and I feel that both are worth the money. But I’m really out of touch when it comes to what normal people do, so I’m curious: does anyone reading this blog pay for streaming music? Chime in.

  1. I only just started paying for Spotify actually. So I can download music on to my phone and still listen to it when I’m offline. I’ll see how it goes. If I don’t use it much I’ll just cancel.

    • I love Spotify. I know you’re a big collector of physical media, but the thing I love the most about it is that I don’t have a desk/shelf/room overflowing with new CD’s. Being able to save music to your smartphone/desktop for offline use is a lifesaver for trips, too. For me, the money I save not buying 10 CD’s a week make Spotify worth the price. The shuffle is completely worthless, however. Anyway, I’ll save that rant for this poll’s follow-up post.

I used to pay for SeriusXM satellite radio, but they upped the yearly $, so I cancelled. I have no data plan with my cell, so streaming on the go wouldn’t work for me unless I could access wifi. I just use my iPod really.
